Hi! I’m Paige, registered dietitian, distance runner and mother. My goal is to help teach female runners how to support their endurance goals with their nutrition. Food is Fuel! It’s also so much more and no one meal or plan is perfect for everyone. Add in the chaos of life, work, periods, and sport it can be hard to navigate all the misinformation out there.
I’ve been running competitively for over a decade starting with the initial push to join my high school track team from my mom. According to her I had too much free time when soccer season was over and it stuck. Freshman year spring track, turned to sophomore year of winter and spring and by junior year my track coach had finally convinced me to hang up my cleats and commit to cross country.
I was the classic HS athlete who thought not getting my period was a badge of honor not a sign my body needed more energy for everything I was asking it to do. It was around that time I found nutrition as a field of study. I loved science and how much food impacted a person’s health while how accessible and direct it was in a person’s day to day life.
Background:
- Bachelor’s of Science at Virginia Tech – Human Nutrition Foods, and Exercise
- Master’s of Science at University of St. Joseph – Clinical Nutrition
- Dietetic Internship – Loyola University of Chicago
Family, food and fitness are my three favorite things and a mix of what you’ll find on this page. I aim to break down the science to help fellow female runners understand how food can best support their miles without guilt and build confidence.
